Moz’s Domain Authority (DA) is a widely recognized and influential metric in the SEO industry. Developed by Moz, this score from 1 to 100 predicts a website’s likelihood to rank in search engine results pages (SERPs). While it is not a direct ranking factor for Google, a high DA score serves as a powerful indicator of a site’s overall authority and credibility. It’s an invaluable tool for benchmarking your website’s performance against competitors and for evaluating the strength of potential link-building opportunities.

Domain Authority is calculated using a machine-learning algorithm that considers numerous factors, including the number of unique referring domains and the quality of those links. A high DA score signals that your website has a robust and trustworthy backlink profile, which is a key component of a successful SEO strategy. Websites with higher DA scores are generally more trusted by search engines and are better equipped to compete for top rankings.

Flow stands out as a unique and powerful indicator of credibility. Unlike other metrics that focus solely on the quantity of backlinks, Trust Flow is a qualitative score from 0 to 100 that assesses the trustworthiness of a website based on the quality of its backlink profile.

Majestic determines your Trust Flow score by analyzing how closely your site is linked to a hand-picked list of highly trusted “seed sites,” which include authoritative sources like major news outlets and government domains. Trust “flows” from these reputable sources, and the closer your site is to them, the higher your score will be. A high Trust Flow signals to search engines and visitors alike that your website is a reliable source of information, which can positively influence your search rankings, organic traffic, and overall brand reputation.
